Going Green at 1515 & 1555 Poydras!

Please join us in our first E-Recycling Event!

1515 Poydras - Wednesday, November 30th

1555 Poydras - Thursday, December 1st

Do you have an old computer gathering dust? PCs, monitors, and other electronics contain hazardous wastes such as barium, beryllium, phosphorus, lead and many other hazardous chemicals. It is important to keep these hazardous chemicals out of our landfills where they can leach into the groundwater. When you recycle, these products are reused to the degree possible, and that is good for the environment.
The following equipment will be accepted: computers, monitors, printers, speakers, power cords, keyboards, mice, VGA cables, other cords/cables, VHS players, DVD players, stereo equipment, CD players, phone systems, cell phones, video game systems (Xbox, Playstation, etc.) and anything with a circuit board. NO televisions, copiers or appliances.

A table will be set up in the Main Lobby on the appropriate day for someone from your office to come down and sign up for the removal services.  CACRC will then come up to your office and bring the recyclable items down to the loading dock for you.
All hard drives are wiped clean whether it is requested or not to the national standards. If hard drives are inoperable, they will be physically destroyed. Certificates of Destruction are available upon request for your donation.

There will be a $5.00 per CRT monitor and a $3.00 fee for printer/fax machines.  These costs will be billed directly to your office.

For more information about the CACRC, please visit their website at www.cacrc.com.

Do something good for your Business and the Environment!

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. will be hosting a
Blood Drive tomorrow, Tuesday, September 27, 2011.

Donors will receive a t-shirt plus blood coverage and a cholesterol test.
Blood Drive
Tuesday, September 27th
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
5th Floor Auditorium @1515 Poydras
***One donation saves 3 lives!***

Remember to bring a picture ID when you donate blood.
Eat a good meal first and drink lots of fluids.  You must be feeling well…no cold, sore throat, or flu symptoms.
Also, know what kind of medicine you are on.  For further information, please see the attached Blood Donor Deferral Guideline Sheet.

Why Donate Blood?

A continuous supply of blood is essential to meet the needs of patients in Southeastern Louisiana hospitals.
Every 3 seconds, someone needs blood.  One out of every three people will need blood before the age of 72.
Help make sure this lifesaving component is there for
you and your loved ones.
A steady stream of donors is always needed.
Remember…blood is only available because volunteer blood donors believe that giving blood is very much worth their time.
In addition, the donor gains a good feeling from knowing that his/her donation can save lives.

We look forward to your excellent support for this blood drive.

The New Orleans area is currently watching the expected tropical system in the Gulf of Mexico.  Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is closely monitoring this tropical system that has strengthened this afternoon into a Tropical Storm Lee south of the Louisiana coast…heavy rain bands continue to spread across much of southeastern and south-central Louisiana.

Since this tropical system is expected to produce heavy rain with the potential for flooding in our metro area, please keep in mind that  the Parking Garage is not a safe haven for vehicles and should not be utilized for this purpose.  Access to the Garages will be limited and access to the Parking Garage will not be a priority before, during or immediately after any emergency.  In addition, the 1555 Parking Garaqe is closed this weekend for Phase II of the 1555 Poydras Mechanical Retrofit.

Be on alert! The strength and path of these types of weather systems can quickly change. Since Tropical Storm Lee will affect our area over the weekend, we strongly encourage your firm to pay close attention to the news and government agencies for tropical storm updates.  In addition, we recommend that each tenant re-familiarize yourself with your firm’s hurricane / business interruption plan and continue to monitor the status of the storm. In addition, please review our Building Emergency Preparedness Plan.

JLL will continue monitoring the tropical storm and determine if further advisories are warranted.

We appreciate your support and cooperation in helping to insure the safety of all tenants of the building.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Management Office at 504-585-2670.

Massive Marsh Fire In New Orleans East

As you know, there is a massive marsh fire in New Orleans East. We are aware of the Air Quality Index advisory which is indicating that sensitive groups such as those people with respiratory ailments should take additional precautions prescribed by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.
Building Management is carefully monitoring the situation. In accordance with this advisory, the Fresh Air Intake has been disabled at this time and indoor air is being re-circulated and conditioned.  You might notice the odor from the marsh fire while in the buildings but please note the building air is “conditioned”.
Building Management is following the City of New Orleans for updates,
status and will keep you informed accordingly.
Thank you…
